How can food retailers tell local customers about fresh arrivals?

Fresh-arrival updates work best when they are specific, dated and easy to act on. Tell customers what has arrived and how to check availability without implying that a photograph is a live inventory system.

What should the update include?

Name the product, store location and date of the update. Explain whether it is sold by weight, individually or as a prepared pack. If customers can reserve an item, link to the accepted ordering method and explain when the reservation becomes confirmed.

How can staff prevent outdated information?

Agree who updates the post when stock runs out or the offer ends. Remove or clearly close a dated promotion rather than repeatedly sharing it unchanged. Separate regular product information from a particular delivery so customers understand which details remain useful after that stock sells.

What should the retailer learn from responses?

Record which products generate questions and whether those questions lead to purchases. Repeated requests for collection times, quantities or prices indicate missing information. Use that feedback to improve the next update. Avoid describing an item as scarce or selling out unless that statement reflects the actual stock position.
