How can community newspapers collect event submissions consistently?

Event submissions are more useful when organisers supply comparable information. A newspaper can reduce follow-up work by explaining the details it needs and how a submission is reviewed before it appears in a calendar or article.
What should an organiser provide?
Request the event title, confirmed date and times, actual venue, organiser contact and a source for updates. Ask about admission, booking and relevant access information. Distinguish public contact details from information supplied only for the newsroom.
What should the newspaper explain?
Publish the submission deadline, review process and any commercial options clearly. Acknowledge receipt without implying acceptance. Explain that submitting an event does not itself guarantee an article, a particular placement or attendance.
How should updates be handled?
Give organisers a simple route to report cancellation, postponement or corrected details. Record when an event was checked and avoid copying an old recurring date into a new listing without confirmation. A current calendar needs an update process as well as a submission form.
