How can restaurants promote takeout without relying only on delivery apps?

Restaurants can make direct takeout easier to find through their own website, business listings and customer communications. Start with a working ordering route and clear pickup instructions before spending money directing more people to it.

What should a direct-order page explain?

Show the current takeout menu, ordering hours, accepted method and collection location. Keep pickup separate from delivery so customers do not choose the wrong service. If orders close before the restaurant does, state the cutoff alongside the menu rather than leaving it for the customer to discover at checkout.

How can existing customers find it?

Place the direct ordering link where customers already look: the website, current profiles and appropriate printed materials. A receipt or takeaway insert can explain how to order next time. Obtain permission before sending promotional messages, and do not claim direct ordering is cheaper unless the comparison is accurate.

What should the restaurant measure?

Track completed direct orders, abandoned orders where available, average collection delays and customer questions. Test the order journey on a phone yourself. More clicks will not help if people cannot find the pickup entrance, understand a modifier or establish whether payment has gone through.
